Mariners? No surprise

I can't be the only one who is not at surprised by the situation Seattle finds itself in this morning. Of course, you'll just have to take my word for it when I say I've felt this way all season, despite their record breaking numbers in the wins column. Now that I've added the ability to search the postings on Bambino's Curse, I discovered that not once have I left a public written record of my lack of confidence in the Mariners to make it too far into the post season.

The closest I can get is my rant that "27 games over .500 doesn't mean much once the playoffs begin. Anything can happen in baseball . . . " from August, 16, 2001. And another posting from Aug. 14 in which I rather impetuously rage against the city of Seattle itself.

Man, I'm loving the search function. One of the silver linings of the Red Sox season ending is I now I have more time to do all the things I've been meaning to do since Spring Training. Yeah, I follow the post season and catch quite a few games (or parts thereof), but I'm not obsessed like I'd be if the Sox were in it. My intensity level is higher for a Wednesday game at Fenway in June than it is right now. I'm sure you know what I mean.
