Broadcast woes

Three days ago they flipped the switch in my neighborhood and we now have 245 or some such number of channels but I STILL CAN'T GET A WEEKEND RED SOX V. ORIOLES GAME!

What a joke.

No game today. No game yesterday. Evidently they only broadcast the Orioles games in this market on the weeknights. On the weekends it's some 4th tier sport like rugby. Rugby? Now NASCAR I could understand, as it's very popular here in central Virginia, but why rugby or nonsense like English club football instead of baseball? I know there are a number of anglophiles around here (bloody wankers the lot), but I can't imagine more people watch rugby than baseball.

Well, at least the Sox won yesterday, although I didn't get to see any of it. I'd have loved to see Casey Fossum's excellent first start and Derek's Lowe's pissed-off body language in the 7th.

Oh, well, I'm reduced to watching the Little League Word Series on TV, with the Red Sox game on the radio at the same time.
